Comparative Essays for History Class (IB style included)

Here are some tips for preparing for in-class history essays (these tips can be specifically used for IB of the Americas courses):

1) Look through the chapter/notes and identify general similarities.
try color coding the topics by subject for an easy quick study and a way to focus on the general trends

2)Based on the detailed examples you find, make conclusions

3)Figure out which geographical sections those conclusions fit in.

4)Make a chart showing different relationships between different geographical sections.

5)Study your chart.

…it would be a good idea to reexamine your study tactics to see what adjustments need to be made based on the demands of the assignment.
